Building Regulations and Technical Design

Preparing for the build is an essential and thorough process that requires meticulous attention to detail. To anticipate all possible outcomes and minimize disruption throughout the project, we adhere to specific building regulations that outline how the building should be constructed and standards that need to be met.

Thanks to our experience designing and building in the UK and Finland we bring our knowledge and standards for buildings that can conserve energy and surpass UK Heat loss and ventilation requirements. To ensure technical accuracy, we produce detailed drawings, including sections highlighting construction build-up. These drawings can be accompanied by a “Schedule of Works” document that specifies the materials and methods to be used. Where structural calculations are required, we can engage a structural engineer on our client’s behalf who will perform the necessary calculations. We’re happy to obtain a quote and liaise with the engineer and any other consultants needed accordingly.

Contract Administration

Choosing the appropriate form of contract is essential in determining how your project will be delivered. The best procurement path and contract type can be identified by fully understanding the complexity of the project, which is something we, as architects, excel in. The choice of procurement path affects how the project is managed, and options range from design and build to management contracting, as well as the traditional route that utilizes contracts provided by RIBA, JCT, and NEC.
